At Cara Technology, we specialise in providing high-quality yeast cultures, whether sourced from our extensive collection of historic industrial strains or your own brewery’s proprietary yeast. Our Pharma-GMP compliant laboratories in Leatherhead are ISO 9001-accredited, ensuring the highest standards of quality and consistency at every step of the process.
Yeast is available in two formats to suit your operational requirements:
Agar Slopes (Slants) — manufactured in our Leatherhead facilities and securely stored under liquid nitrogen in our state-of-the-art cryogenic storage facilities. Slopes are supplied for propagation and scale-up within your own laboratory environment prior to pitching.
Frozen Liquid Yeast (FLY) — now available through our partnership with Novonesis, FLY can be added directly to your industrial propagator, eliminating the need for laboratory propagation and saving three to six days in production timelines.
Through our partnership with Novonesis, the historic Alfred Jørgensen Laboratory and Scandinavian Brewing Laboratory collections — comprising more than 900 strains — are now preserved and available to customers worldwide. Please note that not all strains are available in both formats. Contact our team to discuss which strains are available as agar slopes (slants) from Cara Technology, or as Frozen Liquid Yeast (FLY) through Novonesis.
